JingTong
JingTong From Taoyuan International Airport, board the High Speed Rail Transfer Bus to THSR Taoyuan Station. It will take about 1 hour to Rueifang station where one can transfer to Pingshi branch line. Remember to get the one day pass ticket for unlimited ride along Pingshi line, one of the three branch train lines left in Taiwan. We\\\'ll travel from the last stop JingTong before getting back to Shifen where we will spend at night there. With many old Japanese style buildings, JingTong exudes an old rustic charm. PingShi
From Chingtung, board the train to the next station Pingshi - the homeland of sky-lantern. Buy a paper lantern from the grocery shops along the old street and bring it to Pingshi Sky Lantern Park. Be taken aback by the grandeur and beauty as the lanterns carrying our wishes are sent off to the heaven.
ShiFen
From Pingshi, board the train to Shifen.It is a small village where the rail track cut through it. Places of interest around Shifen. Shifen old street-train pass through the resident area, right in front of their doors Shifen waterfall-Taiwan’s Niagara fall Spend at night at Old House B&B 樓仔厝 (a room for two costs NTD 200 per night) and go for firefly seeing if luck is on our side.
Jinguashi
From Shifen, board a train to Rueifang station. From there, take a bus to Jinguashi that is notable for its historic gold and copper mines. Places of interest around Jinguashi: Gold Ecological Park Jinguashi Shinto Shrine - a Shinto shrine half way up the mountain below Siping lane Gold Waterfall - substantial Jinguashi rainfall seeps into the mine shafts through cracks in the surface rock, becoming acidulous water after interacting with the pyrite and energite underground and undergoing oxidation reduction. Chitang Old Street- Today the street still has long-established general goods stores with old style cigarette display cases. The hand made herbal grass sticky rice sweets they sell should not be missed.
Jiufen
From Jinguashi, take a bus to Jiufen, make famous by the movie “City of Sadness”. The commercial district of Jiufen is covered by two pedestrian streets: Jishan Street and Shuchi (Shuqi) Street. It is a great place for snacks (such as the famous yam balls, fish ball soup, mochi and beef noodles) and souvenirs. NeiWan
Our next destination is NeiWan. We will take the train to Hsinchu Railway Station, and then take Hsinchu Bus and get off at Jhudong Station. Then take another branch of Hsinchu Bus and get off at Neiwan Station. Places of interest around NeiWan Nei-Wan station - built by the Japanese around the Turn of Century, the old train station is a good spot for photography. Neiwan Old Street - a street full of nostalgic ambience with various food vendors, old coffee shops and gift shops along the street. You will also see the lively characters of Brother A-San and Great Auntie, which have long been symbols of NeiWan. Liu Xing-ching (劉興欽) Neiwan Theatre - it is a theme restaurant where one can enjoy some traditional Hakka food while watching some old Taiwanese movie. Neiwan Bridge – walk across the bridge to experience the nature and get a magnificent view of high mountain where the tai-ya tribe live in.
Yingge
Go for a half day tour around Sansia & Yingge before catching a flight back. Yingge Pottery Street – one can get some household decorative items from those shops that sell various hand-painted ceramic and potter Yingge Pottery Factory and Showroom – Other than getting an insight on how potteries were made, one can get some hands on experience in pottery meeting
Sansia
Sansia\\\'s Ching Shui Tsu Shih Temple – famous for its camphor wood carvings, it is one of the finest temple around Taiwan. Minchuan Old Street- old japanese style buildings decorated with wood carvings as well as bronze and stone sculptures. County Hakka Museum (台北縣客家文化園區) - the largest Hakka cultural center in Taiwan exhibiting the culture, history, and influence of the Hakka people in Taiwan and abroad.
