Day 1
Because we planned a long bike ride from Love Pier to Lotus Pond and back again, we needed to start the day with a hearty Taiwanese breakfast.
After breakfast we headed down to Love Pier to hire bikes. There were plenty to choose from.
Things were looking good when we started.
However, the weather turned against us.
But the setback was only temporary. We came back to our hotel, dried off, and set out again for the Lotus Pond. This time by train and taxi.
Our daughter-in-law’s parents organized a banquet to celebrate our 52nd wedding anniversary.
Later that night we visited Kaohsiung’s famous Liu-he Night Market
And then finally back to the Love River to take in the night scenery.
